 Western Indiana Energy Rural Electric Membership Corporation (WIN Energy REMC)is a non-profit electric utility organized as a cooperative serving over 16,000 meters in Clay, Knox, Gibson, Greene, Pike, Posey, Sullivan and Vigo counties.
Founded in 1997, with the merger of Knox County REMC and Sullivan County REMC, Western Indiana Rural Electric Membership Corporation has a heritage dating back to 1939.
The REMC is governed by a Board of Directors made up of nine member-owners elected by the members attending the Annual Meeting. The Board of Directors set the policies of the Corporation.
WIN Energy REMC is a member of Hoosier Energy REC.
Hoosier Energy is the wholesale power provider to sixteen-member
system REMC’s.
WIN Energy REMC is a member of the Indiana Statewide Association of REC's the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association
and the National Rural Telecommunication Cooperative.
