Our Outage Express Automated Reporting System allows you to report your outage easily and quickly. When you call the outage number you will hear:
"Thank you for calling WIN Energy REMC's Outage Express reporting system. Please note that this number is for power outages only. For all other business, please hang up and call 1-800-882-5140. This automated system is voice activated for your convenience. You can simply speak your responses, or if your prefer, use the touch pad of your telephone. You may press 1 for a "Yes" response, or press 2 for "No".
The system will use Caller ID to automatically locate the account that is linked to the telephone number from which you are calling. If the telephone number from which you are calling is not the location of the outage or is not recognized by the system, you will be asked to speak or enter the phone number of the outage location.
Based upon your response, the system will prompt you with a series of questions that will help verify the location of the outage. It will also ask if you know the cause of the outage, such as, if a tree is on the power line, if the wires are down, or if there is a broken pole. Once your outage is logged, the system will report back to you any known information regarding your outage. You will hear a thank you message and you may simply hang up.
If the telephone number for your account is not listed in our member database or it is linked to multiple accounts (more than seven accounts), we will not be able to record an outage call for your account in the Outage Express Reporting System. At that point, your call will be transferred to our dispatch center. You will hear an initial recorded greeting and then be transferred to the next available customer service representative. During high call volume situations, you may experience extended hold times, or in extreme circumstances you may be asked to call back later.
If your telephone number has changed recently or if you're a new member and didn't have a telephone number at the time you signed up for service, please contact the office with your new telephone number. If you have any questions regarding our outage reporting system, please contact our office during normal business hours.

***UNDERGROUND LINE LOCATING***
Effective September 1, 2004, member's of WIN Energy REMC must contact the Indiana
Underground Plant Protection Service (IUPPS) at (800) 382-5544 to have underground electrical
lines located. This is in accordance with a recent law passed in the state of Indiana. Please call
at least two working days prior to digging but no earlier than 20 calendar days before you dig.
It is the member's responsibility to notify IUPPS of any digging, whether it is a major excavation project
or a simple project such as installing a fence or mailbox. If IUPPS is not notified and damage is done to the underground lines,
it will be the member's responsibility to pay for the cost of the repairs. A simple call to IUPPS
could save you costly damages and possibly even your life.
The Indiana Underground Plant Protection Service is a FREE statewide utility
notification service that has been providing Hoosiers and member utilities a cost effective means of
locating their underground utility lines for over 21 years.
