Outage Update-November 17, 2013 Storms
Severe thunderstorms and tornados swept through Indiana Sunday afternoon leaving approximately 1,900 WIN Energy REMC members without power. WIN Energy crews responded quickly Sunday and worked through the night restoring power to over 1700 members. As of 8:00 p.m. EST Monday there were approximately 14 WIN Energy REMC members without power in Knox, Sullivan, and Vigo counties. Power was restored to all members by Tuesday November 19.
Crews are still working in these areas, which were hit hardest by the storms. There was significant damage to numerous poles and power lines that were taken down by the strong winds and tornados. Crews will continue working this week to repair damaged lines and poles. As always, WIN Energy urges you to please use caution and stay away from downed power lines. WIN Energy REMC appreciates your understanding and patience during this time.
